Taxation without Representation

If any of you have spent the time to read and study the Constitution, you can see that it is a very small document compared to the 'tree killers' that congress is turning out these days. If the founding fathers could draw up a plan to run this great country in only seven articles, plus a Bill of Rights that takes up less than 10 pages, why can't the same be done today? I will tell you. The respect for God and the moral compass that it brings has caused us to have to regulate the issues one by one in these bills since there is no moral common sense, as well as it allows congress to be able to hide a lot of backroom deals in all of those pages

A couple of documents that I want to bring out in the open for all to see today, are the 16th and 17th amendments. Both were ratified in 1913. The 16th amendment was passed by congress in July of 1909 under a Progressive Republican president, Taft. It became the bane of all of us every April 15th. The 'graduated' income tax was instituted to provide for the funding of the Federal government without regard for the states. "The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several states and without regard to any census or enumeration."
The founding fathers had tried to set up a balanced federal government that would have to depend on the states and the people to keep it in balance. But this amendment, which progressives hailed as the means for providing funding for the new progressive reforms of the Roosevelt era, was the first great chip in the dike that held back the flood of an ever growing federal presence in America. It provided for a means for the federal government to tax all of its citizens to build the bureaucracy that will one day enslave us all if we do not act soon.

The 17th amendment was a smart move by the Federal government to stop the states from having any say in the laws and statues that congress would dream up. "The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each state, elected by the people thereof, for six years; and each Senator shall have one vote. The electors in each state shall have the qualifications requisite for electors of the most numerous branch of the state legislatures." Prior to this time, the Senators were chosen by the state's legislature to be the representatives of the state's interests in Washington. This amendment meant that in reality we now had 2 houses of representatives of the people and no representation of the states. So, now the progressive federal government began the programs that would soon define the social justice movement and the redistribution of wealth from the haves to the have nots. And as you get more of the have nots to vote for the politicians that are getting them the goodies, you create more power for those politicians who are now beholden to the groups that have gotten them elected. And just as a drug dealer will often give away the first few rocks of crack in order to get the addiction started, the progressive politicians began to set up their clientele of users that would guarantee them places for as long as they want to stay in office.

Now, to make 1913 even more infamous in the annals of history, the Federal Reserve act was enacted this same year. I'm not going to get started on this one today. I could be here awhile.  But, suffice it to say that it is unconstitutional and has been one of the greatest contributors to the leveraging of the economy to the point of no return. And just to be clear the act has nothing to do with being Federal or a reserve system. Because it is neither, but rather a way for the wall street giant banks to control the economy of the United States of America.

So, where do we go from here? How is the hope and change working for you? We keep hoping and all we will have left is pocket change. It's time to educate ourselves and make our move. The president, his czars, Pelousi, Reid, and all are trying to make a socialist state out of these great United States of America as quickly as they can because they know their time to strike is now or never. We cannot allow the health care bill to stand, write your state legislature and let them know you are behind their efforts to strike it down. Make a list of all the democrats, RINOs, and progressives that voted for the bill. They need to be jobless this November! Work within your local groups, the tea parties, the 9-12 projects, the constitutional groups to educate yourself and your neighbors and family. This nation was once great and can be again if we can decide to be the kind of people that will give up some of our time and efforts today to build a better nation for our children and grandchildren. Without our swift action there may not be an America the beautiful for our children.

For my children,
Bill

Awakening for America

I am a grandfather that is finally waking up to the divisive ploys of the progressive, (socialist) movement that has been in play for the past 100 years. This power grab has been disguised by the benevolent outward appearance of their actions to make us believe that they only want what is best for us. They are enslaving us just as surely as a drug dealer enslaves their victims by giving us bits of tasty goodies for a while until we are hooked. Then they force us to pay with our God given rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness (property rights) for our addictions. We are bound so tightly by these benevolent chains that they have squeezed the fight out of most of our great nation. We have allowed this by turning away from God and allowing the government to be our god and welfare provider. Instead of relying on Almighty God and His providence, we have given ourselves to the powers that rule the darkness and their minions. These are men that work deals in secret, hidden from the light of truth. It is time to shine the light of God on this world. As God works in us, He will bring about a revival in our hearts and lives and turn our great nation back to Himself and His principles. But, God does not force His will on us. He will only do what we allow Him to do. It is our choice. It starts with each man or woman and their personal decision to follow God and fight for the return of America the great nation under God.

Claim with me the promise of God to Habakkuk in times much like today

Habakkuk's cries for help from Habakkuk 1:2-5 (NIV)
2How long, O Lord, must I call for help,
but you do not listen?
Or cry out to you, “Violence!”
but you do not save?

3Why do you make me look at injustice?
Why do you tolerate wrong?
Destruction and violence are before me;
there is strife, and conflict abounds.

4Therefore the law is paralyzed,
and justice never prevails.
The wicked hem in the righteous,
so that justice is perverted.

The Lord's Answer
5 “Look at the nations and watch—
and be utterly amazed.
For I am going to do something in your days
that you would not believe,
even if you were told.
